Brevard deputies say attempted murder suspect cut off GPS device, fled

BREVARD COUNTY, Fla. — Brevard County deputies are racing to find an attempted murder suspect who cut off his GPS monitoring bracelet and then ran off.

Keith Weber, 42, is accused of shooting a woman in 2011.

According to court records, Weber was expected to be in court in Orange County Monday for a plea and sentencing related to the 2011 case.

Deputies believe that Weber cut off the GPS device and then threw it into a lake near Cape Canaveral Hospital.

They have not recovered the GPS bracelet.

Weber is facing charges in Orange County of attempted murder, aggravated battery, and aggravated assault with a deadly weapon.

Investigators said he was on pretrial release that included GPS monitoring.

Weber, who lives in Cocoa, was last seen wearing dark clothing and riding a bicycle.

He is 5 feet 11 inches tall and weighs 150-160 pounds, with brown hair and blue eyes.

Investigators said they consider Weber to be dangerous.
