Sexual predator caught after cutting off GPS monitor

BREVARD COUNTY, Fla. — Brevard County deputies caught a sexual predator who cut off his GPS ankle monitor and fled the Cocoa area.

Deputies said 32-year-old Jeriod Terrell Goodman was found in Polk County.

Goodman had cut off the court-ordered monitoring device and fled the area. Until he was caught he had last been seen at the Eagle One trailer park, on Lake Drive, in Cocoa, on Saturday.

Goodman was on parole as a sexual predator for lewd and lascivious battery on a child, according to deputies. He was released from prison on Feb. 15.

Channel 9 learned Monday that Goodman isn't the only sex offender living at a local trailer park. Channel 9's Melonie Holt said about 14 registered sex offenders are living in the area.
