BROWARD COUNTY, Fla. - A Broward County boy is being called a hero after he saved a teenage girl from drowning in a pool Monday near Deerfield Beach.
Angel Rivera, 11, said he was playing with friends when he saw the 13-year-old girl in the bottom of the pool. He said he dove into the water to save her.
"She was down on the bottom, I picked her up and then I took her out, and then I had to save her life,” Rivera said.
A neighbor later showed up and performed CPR on the girl. She is now recovering.
