Bubba Raceway Park holds race in honor of teen who died in crash

MARION COUNTY, Fla. - Bubba Raceway Park will be holding Saturday’s Mike Peters Open in memory of Niokoa Johnson, the 15-year-old who died after crashing on the track last month.

The Gladiator class will be running a special 17-lap feature in Johnson’s honor.

A portion of admission sales, including all pit pass fees, will be donated to the Johnson family.

Park officials will give 100 percent of the proceeds from raffle tickets to the family.

The gates open at 4 p.m. and the race begins at 7 p.m.
