Police: Woman crashes car into Orlando business

ORLANDO, Fla. — Police said a woman was injured when she crashed her car into an Orlando business early Saturday morning.

The incident happened just before 3:00 a.m. at Brothers Scrap Metals on S. Orange Blossom Trail near South Street, police said.

When fire rescue crews arrived on scene, they discovered a car had crashed through the wall of the business and into the building.

The business' surveillance cameras captured the crash. In the video, a bright flash can be seen right as the car comes barreling through the wall, moments later the driver climbs out of her car.

Michael Leigh, the owner of the business, told WFTV this is not the first time a car has crashed into his building. Eyewitness News was there in May of 2009 when another car slammed into Leigh's business after a brief police chase.

Leigh said Brothers Scrap Metal will remain open for business despite the mess caused by the crash.

Officials said the driver was taken to Orlando Regional Medical Center to be treated for non-life threatening injuries. Officials have not said if the driver will face any charges.
