Central Fla. residents pack cannabis class

ORLANDO, Fla. — Central Florida residents packed the Hyatt Regency Orlando International Airport hotel Sunday for the region’s first cannabis class

The day-long session taught more than a 100 people the basics of running a marijuana business, from growing it to selling it.

Attendees heard advice from speakers who have already started a successful cannabis business.

The goal of the seminar was to dispel the myths of marijuana as just a street drug.

“We are not going to be running around smoking pot on the streets. We are going to be providing medicine to help people overcome issues in their lives,” said one of the attendees, Aubrey Arias.

The CEO of the Cannabis Career Institute is planning on coming back for another class in two months.

Florida voters will decide in November if medical marijuana should be legal in in the state.
