ORLANDO, Fla. - WFTV News Director, Matt Parcell announced today that Certified Meteorologist George Waldenberger has joined the team in Severe Weather Center 9 and will be forecasting Central Florida weather starting Jan. 16, 2013.
George is coming to Eyewitness News from KSHB in Kansas City. He has also worked as a meteorologist in Tulsa and Sioux City.
George has earned degrees in Geological Engineering and Geology from University of Wisconsin and has a Master’s degree in Atmospheric and Oceanic Sciences from UCLA. He will be taking over weekend evening duties.
“George is joining Central Florida’s strongest team of meteorologists. He’s exceptionally bright with excellent forecasting skills,” said Parcell. “George understands weather at the local level and will bring viewers a clear understanding of what’s happening and why as he forecasts.”
