Changes coming to Kissimmee Lynx schedules

KISSIMMEE, Fla. — Bus riders in Osceola County will soon see big changes in their commutes.

Lynx officials are meeting with Osceola County leaders Monday night to present a new transportation schedule for next year.

Channel 9's Racquel Asa discovered nearly every Lynx bus route will be changed in less than a month.

The changes are happening because of a new stop, Kissimmee Intermodal Station, in downtown Kissimmee.

Officials broke ground on the bus hub in December last year and beginning Jan. 12 buses will begin passing through.

The new hub will replace the current hub at the Osceola Square Mall.

The county will spend nearly $5.5 million on bus service next year and that includes rerouting nearly all of its buses.

It's all part of a plan to give riders easy access to SunRail, the new commuter train system, which will pass through downtown Kissimmee starting in 2016.
