Christmas woman dies in crash that hurled debris into Bithlo home

BITHLO, Fla. — A woman died early Saturday in a crash in a Bithlo neighborhood, the Florida Highway Patrol said.

Jennifer Camp, 45, of Christmas, was driving a 2009 Saturn Outlook northbound on North 6th Street at Bellmore Avenue when she drove through the intersection and crashed into a street sign, a fence post and a guardrail, said FHP Sgt. Kim Montes.

Debris from the crash went airborne and crashed through the bedroom of a home at the intersection, Montes said.

Camp was brought to Florida Hospital East, where she died.

Warren Malave Sr., 68, of Orlando, was asleep inside the home when he was struck by the debris and broken glass, Montes said.

Malave wasn’t hospitalized.

The cause of the crash continues to be investigated.

Investigators haven’t determined if alcohol was a factor in the crash.
