Clermont man pleads guilty in scheme to sell illegal app copies

CLERMONT, Fla. — A Clermont man has pleaded guilty to his part in a scheme to sell millions of illegal copies of Android mobile apps.

Investigators said Kody Peterson was arrested in January for the sales that occurred between May 2011 and August 2012.

Three others were arraigned Wednesday, including Nicholas Narbone of Orlando, and all face up to five years in prison if convicted.

The case is the first time the Department of Justice has gone after those who counterfeit mobile apps.
