Coalition for the Homeless holds back to school event for families


ORLANDO, Fla. - The Coalition for the Homeless held a back to school event for students and their families on Saturday morning.

Officials with the Coalition for the Homeless said the event, called the "Back to School Festival," was made possible by donations from sponsors and volunteers. The Back to School Festival was held from 9:30 a.m. until noon at the Coalition for the Homeless' downtown Orlando campus on Central Boulevard.

The event was for children and their families who reside at the Coalition for the Homeless. The families were given free backpacks, school supplies, clothes and shoes at the annual event. Additionally, free haircuts and a catered lunch were provided.
