‘Community bail fund’: Attorneys, public defenders unite to help nonviolent offenders post bail

ORLANDO, Fla. — A prominent Orlando law firm, the 9th Circuit’s state attorney’s and public defender’s offices have united on a mission to help nonviolent offenders post their bail.

The community bail fund is a unique public-private venture overseen bythe Morgan and Morgan law firm.

The partnership said it will work to stop putting people who commit nonviolent crimes behind bars before trial because they can’t afford bail.

The advocates of numerous community bail funds across the country believe the cash bail system is antiquated and unfair.

Now, that belief is shared by the attorneys of Central Florida’s Morgan and Morgan law firm.
