MARION COUNTY, Fla. — A convicted felon in Marion County is now being investigated in the death of his girlfriend following an arrest on suspicion of possessing a firearm.
Police were called to a home on southwest First Street Thursday afternoon where they found 18-year-old Shankera Smith's body.
Investigators interviewed Smith's boyfriend, Joseph Dennis Jr. However, he has not been charged in the killing.
