Cops: 14-year-old arrested after grabbing gun from deputy

OCALA, Fla. — A 14-year-old was arrested after he tried to grab a Marion County deputy's gun, authorities said.

Bowen had been arrested before and is suspected in 15 recent burglaries, detectives said

Investigators said they spotted Gabriel Bowen riding his bike in Ocala.

They said Bowen tossed a stolen handgun while he tried running away on foot.

When the detective caught him, authorities said the teen tried to grab the deputy's gun and a shot was fired.

No one was hit when the deputy's gun went off, authorities said.
