Turnpike lanes near Okahumpka reopen after truck fire

LAKE COUNTY, Fla. — A crash closed all of the northbound lanes of the Florida Turnpike in Lake County near Okahumpka Thursday afternoon.

Florida Highway Patrol troopers said the lanes were closed at mile marker 295, just south of County Road 470.

According to troopers, a tractor-trailer hit a guardrail and burst into flames around 11:45 a.m.

Troopers said the driver, who suffered minor injuries, told them a blown tire caused him to hit the guardrail.

The road reopened around 2 p.m.
