FHP: Woman seriously injured in motorcycle crash on SR 417

ORLANDO, Fla. — A woman suffered serious injuries in a crash that involved three motorcycles Thursday evening, according to Florida Highway Patrol troopers.

Officers said someone driving an SUV on State Road 417 northbound veered their vehicle into the right lane in the path of three motorcycle drivers.

They said 29-year-old Jeanette Villegas steered onto the shoulder of the road to avoid the car and struck a construction trailer.

Villegas was ejected from her motorcycle and was rushed to Orlando Regional Medical Center, troopers said.

According to FHP, the other two motorcycle riders dropped their bikes to avoid hitting Villegas.

Troopers said the driver of the SUV did not stay at the scene.

All lanes on the expressway near Curry Ford and Lee Vista roads were shut down for a couple hours, but have since reopened.

The crash is under investigation.
