PORT ORANGE, Fla. — A Daytona Beach man was killed when he wrecked his motorcycle in Port Orange Sunday evening.
Police say they’re unsure what caused 61-year-old Robert Franklin Finzel to lose control of his motorcycle as he traveled northbound on City Center Parkway just before 6 p.m.
According to the Port Orange Police Department’s traffic homicide investigators, Finzel left the roadway and was thrown from the motorcycle, eventually coming to a rest underneath it.
He was pronounced dead at Halifax Hospital in Port Orange.
The crash remains under investigation
Police say Finzel was not wearing a helmet.
