Deltona 7-Eleven robbed at gunpoint; robber still at large

DELTONA, Fla. — Volusia County deputies are looking for the man who robbed a 7-Eleven at gunpoint.

Deputies said the man stormed into the store on Providence Boulevard in Deltona about 10 p.m. in search of cash.

The masked man held the workers at gunpoint while he demanded money from the register.

Employees told deputies the gunman was screaming and became increasingly agitated because he thought it was taking them too long to turn over the money.

Even though the man was wearing a ski mask and bandana, employees were still able to make out a distinct marking on the robber’s face--a tear drop tattoo below his eye.

Officials said he did not hurt anyone and made off with $100.

When deputies arrived at the scene, their K-9 dogs tracked the robber for a mile to Tivoli Drive but then lost the scent.
