Deputies: 1 killed, 2 injured, in shooting behind Orange Co. supermarket

ORANGE COUNTY, Fla. — Orange County deputies are investigating after shots rang out behind a grocery store Friday night.

One man died and the other two men who were shot are in stable condition, officials said.

The shooting happened around 7 p.m. with plenty of shoppers outside the Bravo Supermarket on Hiawassee Road.

Investigators said the three men were shot at a homeless camp behind the supermarket.

They said it appears they were being robbed.

A fourth person ran from the scene, but deputies don’t know if he is a victim or an assailant.

“Right now they are canvassing the area and speaking to witnesses and the victims who are at the hospital to find out what happened here tonight,” said Lt. Paul Hopkins with the Orange County Sheriff’s Office.

The two survivors are recovering at Orlando Regional Medical Center.
