Cops: Daughter stabbed mom to death during argument

ORANGE COUNTY, Fla. — Authorities said a woman was stabbed to death by her daughter during an argument in Orange County.

The stabbing happened Monday evening at a home on Weetamoo Circle near North Apopka-Vineland Road in Pine Hills.

Investigators said 65-year-old Linda Jones was arguing with her daughter, Meagan Jones when the 21-year-old stabbed her mother and also cut herself in the leg during the incident.

Deputies said they still don't know what led to the altercation.

Authorities said three disabled children with varying stages of cerebral palsy were inside the home at the time of the stabbing.

WFTV learned the teenage children were staying with their grandmother because of a court order.

Investigators said Linda Jones was conscious and alert when paramedics arrived. However, she died on the way to the hospital, officers said.

Authorities said Meagan Jones was sitting outside on a curb and admitted to stabbing her mother in the chest after an argument. She also said she had thought about doing so multiple times, authorities said

Authorities said the mother called 911 after the incident and told the operator her daughter stabbed her and she was going to die.

Meagan Jones has been charged with first-degree murder.

According to documents, Meagan Jones was arrested for battery on her mother in November.

Her mother told deputies her daughter has bipolar disorder.

The Department of Children and Families is searching for someone to take care of the victim's three grandchildren.
