Deputies: Altoona man kidnaps Eustis girl he met on Facebook

A 29-year-old Altoona man was arrested after he kidnapped a 17-year-old Eustis girl and forced her to have sex with him, the Lake County Sheriff’s Office said.

Justin White, 29, is accused of using social media to convince the girl to run off with him to Georgia.

“They started Facebook messaging and [sending] text messages. Some of those messages were sexually explicit,” said John Herrell, a Sheriff’s Office spokesman. “The young lady actually left her home, once her parents fell asleep, with this guy.”

Shortly after driving off, the girl realized she had made a mistake and she asked White to bring her home, according to an arrest report.

“We ain’t going back,” White allegedly told the girl.

White drove the girl to a Lake City motel, where he held her against her will and forced her to have sex with him, investigators said.

The next day, White was accused of driving the girl to Fargo, Georgia, where he was arrested during a traffic stop.

"It's very scary,” Herrell said. “This really serves to highlight the dangers that are out there online"

White was booked into the Lake County Jail and was charged with kidnapping and luring/enticing a child for sex.
