INDIAN RIVER COUNTY, Fla. — Indian River County deputies arrested two people who may have been under the influence of flakka, a synthetic drug, when deputies said the suspects got violent.

On Saturday, deputies arrested Timothy Cruce, 37, who they said was screaming and yelling as he punched vehicles along a street in Vero Beach.

He fought with deputies as they tried to restrain him.

Cruce was eventually arrested and charged with one count each of disorderly conduct, resisting arrest with violence, and battery on a law enforcement officer. He remains in the Indian River County Jail on $15,150 bond.

Deputies arrested another man Thursday who led them on a chase of over 100 mph, forcing other vehicles off the roadway on A1A.

They lost track of the driver, but during a search of the area, they found Jason Rosson, 32, in a nearby wooded area running around with a flashlight.

They said he became violent as they tried to arrest him, said he ripped off his clothes and ran into someone’s garage.

Authorities caught up with him and said Rosson became increasingly violent, deputies said.

He was charged with burglary of an occupied dwelling, resisting arrest with violence, possession of amphetamines, battery on a law enforcement officer, two counts of felony fleeing and eluding, and leaving the scene of an accident. He is in the Indian River County Jail on $65,500 bond.

Deputies believe both men were under the influence of flakka.
