ORANGE COUNTY, Fla. - Orange County deputies made a quick arrest after a man robbed a gas station early Thursday morning, authorities said.

The RaceTrac gas station on North Kirkman Road was robbed at about 2:30 a.m. Thursday.

Investigators said the robber told the store clerk he had a gun and demanded money.

Witnesses said they never saw a weapon.

Investigators said they found the suspect moments later nearby.

"Fortunately for us, we had one of our officers in the area in an unmarked unit," said Lt. Mark Conner of the Orange County Sheriff's Office. "Met up with a guy that was right down the street, sweating profusely."

Investigators said they found the money on the man, but did not say whether they found a weapon.

The man was arrested on armed robbery charges. His name was not released.
