Deputies find knives, drugs in woman's van as she picks up child from day care

SEMINOLE COUNTY, Fla. — A Seminole County woman was arrested Friday after deputies said they found drugs and weapons in her van while her two children were in the vehicle.

Deputies said Courtney Lacy, 21, smelled of marijuana when she picked up her child from the day care in the 900 block of Dodd Road in Casselberry.

When deputies approached her van, they said the smell became stronger and they saw a toddler in the vehicle, whom she had left there when she walked into the day care.

Deputies searched the van and found several razor blades and knives within reach of the children, along with marijuana and drug paraphernalia.

Lacy was charged with child neglect, marijuana possession and possession of drug equipment.

She was booked into jail on a $6,000 bond.
