Deputies find rolling meth lab in couple's car

DELTONA, Fla. — A man who had been kicked out of his mother's house because of drug use got a trip to jail after deputies found a meth lab in the back of his station wagon.

The Daytona Beach News-Journal reports 22-year-old Scott Shaw was pulled over after deputies saw him roll through a stop sign in Deltona.

Deputies say Shaw and 35-year-old passenger Lindsey Chum appeared nervous. Chum told them she had "stuff" on her. They found methamphetamine in her pockets and purse.

The newspaper says a search of the car turned up a small safe that Shaw told deputies contained a "lab." Inside they found a variety of meth-making items and chemicals.

Shaw was charged with possession of listed chemicals. Chum faces various drug charges. Both remain in jail.
