Deputies: Flagler County teens start brawl with Girl Scouts outside Walmart

A table-flipping fight at a Girl Scout cookie stand in Flagler County started over a dispute with a child about an unpaid debt, deputies said.

Deputies said it was almost like a “bar room brawl” when two teenagers began destroying a Girl Scout cookie stand and throwing punches.

The 16-and 18-year olds are facing charges of battery and disorderly conduct.

Deputies said Daniel Kennedy, 18, took a swing at people near the entrance of a Walmart on Cypress Pointe Parkway.

Kennedy hit a man who had recently had heart surgery and sent him to the ground, deputies said.

Deputies said they had to threaten Kennedy with a Taser before he would calm down so they could place him under arrest.

Kennedy and his 16-year-old brother began destroying the Girl Scouts’ cookie stand when they could not collect $20 one of the Girl Scouts allegedly owed their sister, deputies said.

As the teenagers began attacking the Girl Scouts, a woman jumped in and hit Kennedy, according to a report.

The teenagers were arrested and booked into the Flagler County Jail.

The 16-year-old was allowed to go home to his mother, while his older brother had to bond out of jail.

Deputies estimate about $200 in damage was done to the stand and the cookies.
