Surveillance pictures released in Orange County gas station shooting

ORLANDO, Fla. — Authorities are hoping pictures from a surveillance video will help them catch the man who shot another man several times inside an Orange County gas station Friday.

Investigators swarmed a Kangaroo Express gas station in the 800 block of Chickasaw Trail and an apartment complex across the street to search for the shooter.

A sheriff's office helicopter was also flying over the scene.

“I was kind of shocked that it happened so close and right in front of my face,” said witness Alexander Ramos.

Ramos said he heard shots fired as he was walking into the convenience store just after 10 p.m.

“I heard two gunshots go off. I saw people running all of the sudden out of the front entrance of the place,” he said. “And then I saw the gunman come running out and he was shooting as he walked.”

According to deputies, two customers were arguing inside the store when one man opened fire.

They said the gunman ran out of the store still shooting, while other customers ran for cover.

“He shot two gunshots in the air as he was running. Like a wild west show,” Ramos.

Deputies are still searching for the gunman.

The victim underwent surgery at Orlando Regional Medical Center, but his condition is unknown.

His name has not been released.
