• Father of 9 fatally shot on Father's Day at own birthday party

    PINE HILLS, Fla. - A man was fatally shot at his birthday party early Sunday, the Orange County sheriff’s office said.

    Alexis Osmick was shot at his house party celebrating his 39th birthday on the 3000 block of Pioneer Road shortly after 3:10 a.m., deputies said.

    Osmick, who friends say is a father of 9, was taken to Orlando Regional Medical Center where he died, deputies said.

    The person who shot Osmick is cooperating with deputies, officials said.

    Attendees at the party said Osmick was trying to break up a fight between two individuals when he was shot. 

    Osmick's friends said he's originally from Haiti. 

    Deputies are not seeking any suspects at this time.
