Deputies: Orange County man kidnapped young girl, performed lewd acts

ORANGE COUNTY, Fla. — A convicted sex offender is accused of kidnapping and trying to molest a young girl is in jail without bail Thursday.

According to police reports, two girls, who police said were under the age of 13, went to a pond near the Blossom Park Condos complex.

The girls told deputies they were looking for turtles when Clifford Murray, 39, approached them and tried to lure one of the girls to his apartment.

Police said Murray offered the girls a small amount of money to come to his apartment.

Police said one girl went with Murray.

According to police, he took her to his apartment, where he performed lewd acts in front of her.

Police said the girl told her friend what happened. The friend told her mother, who then called police.

Police said Murray was convicted of molesting children twice before.

Murray faces a number of charges, including kidnapping a child under the age of 13.
