Deputies search for gunman who shot, killed Cocoa man

BREVARD COUNTY, Fla. — Brevard County deputies are searching for the man they said shot and killed Lavonte Ingram in Cocoa early Tuesday morning.

According to deputies, around 1:30 a.m. a large crowd was in a parking area on Lakeview Boulevard when a man came up to the group and fired a handgun in the direction of Ingram hitting him.

Ingram, 20, of Cocoa, was taken to Wuesthoff Hospital where he later died, investigators said.

Deputies said the gunman fled the area on foot.
