Missing Ormond Beach woman found

VOLUSIA COUNTY, Fla. — Volusia County deputies have located a missing Ormond Beach woman who suffers from medical problems.

Deputies were searching for Tammy Jo Gordon, 46, who was reported missing from her Avenue D home at around 1:30 p.m. Tuesday.

According to deputies, Gordon has a severe neurological disorder. They said the condition causes her to have spasms, confusion and disorientation.

Deputies said she has wandered away from her home before.

Deputies said Gordon had been taken to Halifax Health Medical Center for a medical evaluation early Thursday morning after Ormond Beach Police encountered her in a disoriented state and were unable to determine her identity.

She was then transferred to another medical facility, where a nurse contacted the Sheriff’s Office after learning of the missing person case Tuesday evening.
