Deputies: Shooting at Clermont gas station could be drug-related

CLERMONT, Fla. — Five people have been apprehended following a shooting at a Sunoco in Clermont on Friday.

Investigators said two cars were involved in an altercation near the gas station on U.S. 27.

Authorities said the individuals in both cars were familiar with one another and at some point gunfire was exchanged.

Investigators with the Lake County Sheriff's Office said the shooting was not a random act and may be drug-related.

There is also evidence to suggest that someone was injured in one of the cars, however, no one has come forward with an injury and no bystanders were injured, authorities said.

Deputies continue to investigate.
