Deputies still searching for killer in murder of Ocala woman

OCALA, Fla. — Marion County deputies are searching for leads to the killer of an Ocala woman who was murdered in her home on Jan. 25.

Tamara Bedenbaugh was found dead in her home on Northwest U.S. Highway 225-A last week.

Deputies used K9s to search around the home and turned to social media for help, but the killer is still on the loose.

"Our detectives are doing everything they can to try to find anything they can in this case," Lauren Lettelier of the Marion County Sheriff's Office said.

Investigators believe Bedenbaugh was killed during a home invasion in the early hours of Jan. 25.

Officials said her husband came home and found her dead. They said she and her husband were separated.

Deputies said they noticed some of her jewelry was missing and are searching pawn shops hoping to find it.

Officials said the last time she was seen alive was when she bought a soda at a gas station near her home at 4:48 p.m. on Jan. 24. They said she talked to family members via text until about 10:48 p.m.

Deputies said the road the victim lives on is very busy and they're urging anyone who may have seen anything to call them.

The victim's husband and brothers declined to comment.

A $6,000 reward is being offered for information that leads to an arrest.
