Man, woman, child found dead inside Lake Nona home

ORANGE COUNTY, Fla. — Orange County deputies have not identified the man, woman and child who were found dead in the garage of a Lake Nona home on Saturday.

Authorities said they received a request for a well-being check at a home on Mere Parkway in the Eagle Creek golf community around 11 a.m.

According to officials, a property management company that rents out the house requested the well-being check.

"There was an odor coming from the residence," Capt. Angelo Nieves with the Orange County Sheriff's Office said.

Deputies said they discovered a 50-year-old man, a 24-year-old woman and a young girl dead inside the home.

The Medical Examiner's Office determined they had been dead for about three weeks.

"There was no evidence of any forced entry into the residence at all," Nieves said.

According to deputies, the bodies showed signs of decomposition. Investigators are trying to figure out how the three died.

"One of (the) things we will be looking at is to determine if it was a murder-suicide," Nieves said.

According to the property appraiser's website, a family that lives in Illinois owns the home.
