Deputy accused of driving patrol car drunk fired

VOLUSIA COUNTY, Fla. — A deputy accused of driving her patrol car while drunk with a child inside was fired Thursday.

Stephanie LeClerc, 37, was witnessed swerving along a Volusia County road with a 7-year-old girl in the car with her.

She had previously been placed on administrative leave with pay after her arrest. Officials said she was off-duty at the time.

She was charged with DUI and child neglect for the Oct. 19 incident.

LeClerc had been hired by the Sheriff's Office in July 1999 and was assigned to court services at the Volusia County Courthouse Annex, in Daytona Beach.
