OSCEOLA COUNTY, Fla. - A man who hit a bicyclist in Osceola County before crashing into a ditch could face charges.
The driver of a red convertible was put in handcuffs at the corner of Keen Street and Orange Blossom Trail on Thursday.
It all started with a call to deputies about a reckless driver speeding down the road.
Officials said the driver first hit a bicyclist and as soon as deputies went after him, they said he kept driving before crashing.
An eyewitness saw the whole thing.
"One cop was prying open the door because he slid down into the ditch in the passenger seat," said witness Henry Camp. "They didn't want him to get any further down the trail to do any more harm to people."
The bicyclist wasn't seriously hurt.
The driver was taken to a local hospital.
The Florida Highway Patrol is still investigating the crash.
