Disposal of dead man's items under investigation

APOPKA, Fla. — Police in Apopka are investigating after a grim discovery was made in a dumpster.

Detectives said a deceased man's bodily fluids were found in a dumpster behind Big Lots on south Orange Blossom Trail.

According to a report, a Servpro team went out to the home where a wheelchair-bound man died, but his body wasn't found for as many as four days. Police said the man's death was not suspicious.

Two Servpro employees cleaned the space, but reports state that when they had to dispose of a wheelchair and mattress, the waste facility was closed so they left the items in a dumpster. Police said the items were covered with blood, hair and other bodily fluids that require disposal at a controlled facility.

The case remains under investigation.
