DNA puts Winter Haven man behind bars in connection with sexual battery in Satellite Beach

SATELLITE BEACH, Fla. — A 36-year-old Winter Haven man was arrested Friday evening and charged with numerous charges in connection with a sexual battery in Satellite Beach, officials said.

Harry Claude Adam Page was in the Polk County Jail Saturday on charges of attempted murder, aggravated sexual battery, burglary of an occupied vehicle, aggravated battery, robbery and false imprisonment.

Page is accused of attacking a woman reading a book in her parked car on Feb. 12.

According to investigators, Page allegedly reached into the car through an open window, unlocked the door, pulled out the 59-year-old victim, beat her and raped her.

"When he was assaulting the victim, and when he was beating her, he said he was going to kill her and she absolutely believed he was going to and it was going to happen," Satellite Beach Police Chief Jeff Pearson said.

The woman was able to drive herself to the hospital after the rape, police said.

Investigators sent DNA evidence to the state crime lab where testing was put on a fast track.

The evidence matched Page’s DNA profile, police said.

A registered violent sexual predator, Page has an extensive criminal history, Pearson said.

“Our investigative team worked nonstop on this case, following up on nearly a hundred leads,” he said. “Ultimately, this arrest came down to good police and forensic work.”

Page spent time earlier in the week when he was arrested Tuesday on five charges of failing to provide the required information as a registered sexual predator.

He was released on bail Thursday before he was arrested on the Satellite Beach charges Friday.

He was being held Saturday without bond.
