Driver killed, passenger critical in Beeline crash; 3rd driver involved flees scene

BREVARD COUNTY, Fla. — A driver was killed and the passenger critically injured in a three-car Brevard County crash early Monday morning, said the Florida Highway Patrol.

Troopers said the three cars were traveling west on State Road 528 near mile marker 37 when for an unknown reason the first car drove into an unpaved shoulder of the roadway, causing the car to rotate.

The left side of that car hit the guardrail, causing it to overturn and ejecting the driver and the passenger from the car, FHP said.

The other two cars swerved to avoid hitting the crashed car, but hit the ejected driver. The man in the second car, Jose Molina, 30, pulled over onto the shoulder of the roadway, but the third car left the scene of the crash.

The names of the driver and passenger of the crashed car were not released, pending next of kin notification.

Molina will not face charges, FHP said.
