WINTER PARK, Fla. - The driver of a car that crashed into a day care center after being rear-ended by an SUV has tested negative for driving under the influence.
The Florida Highway Patrol said on Thursday that 61-year-old Albert Dean Campbell had no alcohol or drugs in his system.
FHP is still investigating last week's crash.
An FHP report released Wednesday says Campbell was preparing to turn right onto the private drive of a KinderCare when a Dodge Durango driven by Robert Corchado rear-ended the car. The impact propelled the car through the KinderCare parking lot and into the building.
Four-year-old Lily Quintus was killed, and 14 others were injured.
Corchado was charged with fleeing the scene of a fatal crash and remains in jail with bail set at $100,000.
