8 people pulled from water after boat overturns

Eight people were pulled from the water after their boat overturned in the Indian River on the 4th of July.

BREVARD COUNTY, Fla. - A passing boater helped pull six adults and two children from the Indian River Lagoon after their boat overturned Thursday.

According to a witness, the boat began taking on water and eventually capsized near the Max Brewer Memorial Parkway.

Minor injuries were reported, but no one was taken to the hospital.

A passing boater noticed the group in distress and pulled them from the water.

No one was injured in the incident.

Officials from Titusville Fire and Emergency Services said an overloaded boat and rough waters could be the reason for the boat capsizing.
