'Enchantment of the Seas' makes first voyage to Bahamas

BREVARD COUNTY, Fla. — At its new home at Port Canaveral, Royal Caribbean’s cruise ship Enchantment of the Seas now offers short trips to the Bahamas all year.

It's the first time in four years the cruise line has brought a new ship to central Florida.

Officials said the pool deck is the largest they have in the fleet.

The biggest suite on the ship holds nearly 3,000 passengers.

The ship’s captain said he has sailed out of the port before and he knows cruises out of central Florida are only getting more popular.

The four-day cruise that leaves Thursday takes passengers first to Royal Caribbean's private island at Coco Key, and then to Nassau, before circling back around to Port Canaveral.
