VOLUSIA COUNTY, Fla. - Hundreds of police officers are trading in their squad cars for bicycles this week to honor fallen officers and their families.
Channel 9 caught up with the riders on the Tour de Force in Satellite Beach.
The group is making the 270-mile trek from the Miami area to Daytona Beach on the charity ride.
They're remembering four officers who died in 2013 and hope to raise more than $40,000 to help the fallen officer's loved ones.
"It's a great group of people and we remember the men and women who have sacrificed their lives for our community," said Woody Carroll of the Palm Bay Police Department.
Next year's ride will be used to remember the officers killed in 2014, including Orange County Deputy Jonathan Pine and Windermere Police Officer Robert German.
