Family donates organs of child who was hit by OUC truck

ORANGE COUNTY, Fla. — The family of a 10-year-old girl who was killed when she was hit by a truck has decided to donate some of her some organs.

Marisol Gonzalez suffered severe head trauma when she was hit by an OUC truck while walking along Pershing Avenue in Orange County on Dec.2, investigators said.

Her family took her off life support on Wednesday.

Channel 9's Bianca Castro spoke with Marisol's father, Francisco Gonzalez, who said the decision to donate her organs has helped save six lives.

"It was not a difficult decision for him. Knowing his daughter, she would have been in agreement with that decision," said Francisco Gonzalez said through a translator.

The family moved from Puerto Rico six months ago.

"Very beautiful little girl. She loved the color pink, loved cats and dogs. She was very family friendly," said the translator.
