FedEx semi truck catches fire on Turnpike in Lake County

LAKE COUNTY, Fla. — Troopers said a FedEx semi truck caught fire on the Turnpike in Lake County Sunday morning.

The incident happened around 8:45 a.m. in the southbound lanes of the Turnpike near U.S. 27.

Officials said the driver was able to detach the trailer from the cab of the truck after noticing the fire.

The fire prompted troopers to shut down the southbound lanes for some time Sunday morning. The highway has since reopened.

It's unclear what sparked the fire or if any packages were damaged. No one was injured during the incident.
