Felony charges dropped against woman accused of using stun gun on children

ORANGE COUNTY, Fla. — An Osceola County woman will spend the next 12 months on probation after she was accused of using a stun gun to discipline three children.

Prosecutors have dropped felony child abuse charges against Letina Smith.

On Tuesday, State Attorney Jeff Ashton's office said it did not have enough evidence to lead to a conviction.

Smith pleaded no contest to a reduced misdemeanor charge.

In January, Smith was arrested after one of the children in her care told a school leader that smith used an electric weapon to punish them.
