FHP: Boy, 15, dies when SUV carrying 8 overturns in Osceola County

OSCEOLA COUNTY, Fla. — A 15-year-old Jamaican boy died late Sunday when an SUV carrying eight people overturned in Osceola County, the Florida Highway Patrol said.

Angella Moseley, 40, of Royal Palm Beach, was driving the Toyota SUV east on U.S. Highway 192 at Deer Park Road shortly before midnight when one of the vehicle's tires separated, causing it to flip over, Sgt. Kim Montes said.

The boy, whose identity wasn't released, was thrown from the vehicle, Montes said. He died at the crash scene.

Kenneth Reid, 72, Mavalyn Reid, 66, and Rupert Stone, 51, all of whom are from Royal Palm Beach, were taken to Holmes Regional Medical Center in Melbourne in serious condition, troopers said.

Investigators said Moseley and three passengers -- Dean Myles, 35, Charlena Philome, 13, and Tiyana Cunningham, 13, each of whom is also from Royal Palm Beach -- were taken to St. Cloud Regional Medical Center with minor injuries.

Moseley and Myles were the only ones wearing seat belts, Montes said.

The crash remains under investigation.

No other details were given.
