Fire severely damages Orange County home

ORANGE COUNTY, Fla. — Thirty Orange County firefighters battled a house fire late Monday afternoon.

Skywitness 9 HD flew over the house on Littleton Court, near University Boulevard, as it burned.

According to fire officials, a neighbor heard loud popping sounds and saw flames coming from the roof of the house. That neighbor knocked on the door of the burning home and alerted the woman living there. The resident said she had no idea the house was burning.

At the same time, according to fire officials, a passing motorist saw the flames and called 911.

According to firefighters, there were no injuries.

Fire officials said about 50 percent of the 2,500-square-foot home was severely damaged in the fire.

The state fire marshal was on the scene Monday evening looking into the cause of the fire. Fire officials said it is believed that the fire began in the garage.
