LAKELAND. Fla. — A man is in serious condition after being struck by a train and then pinned between a rail car and a sidewalk Friday night, the Lakeland Fire Department said.
The man, who was not identified, was taken to the hospital in serious condition.
Firefighters said he was hit on Massachusetts Avenue in the downtown area of Lakeland.
It’s not clear why the man was so close to the train tracks.
The man remains in serious condition.
