Firefighters contain Volusia County brush fires

VOLUSIA COUNTY, Fla. — Firefighters have contained two brush fires that were burning on Saturday in Volusia County.

The first fire was near Maytown Road in Oak Hill and it grew to roughly 100 acres, officials said. The second fire was off of Boy Scout Camp Road in the rural part of New Smyrna Beach.

More than 30 firefighters battled the Boy Scout Camp Road fire, which grew to 150 acres. Officials said two cars were damaged in the fire.

Although the fires are both under control, officials worry they could flare back up Sunday afternoon.
